    Countrywide Commercial Launch of UBL PSO Auto Credit Card
     
    The much awaited countrywide commercial launch of UBL PSO Auto Credit Card, Pakistan’s first Auto Credit Card took place on Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at an attractive ceremony held at MG Motors, PSO’s premier station in Karachi. The highlight of the ceremony was the unveiling of a backdrop marking the event and a test transaction on the POS machines.

Mr. Atif R. Bokhari, President & CEO, UBL and Mr. Irfan K. Qureshi, MD PSO performed the inauguration in the presence of the senior management of the two organizations and members of the Cards Team from UBL and PSO. The event was widely covered by major TV channels and Print media.

As Mr. Atif R. Bokhari, President & CEO, UBL stated on the occasion: "UBL & PSO share a long and mutually beneficial relationship. Apart from free fuel, the UBL PSO Auto Credit Card offers more value in shape of customized deals on auto-related products and services, instant rewards at dedicated outlets and annual fee waiver as a standard feature".

Positioned as Pakistan’s first Auto Credit Card, it offers 5% Free Fuel on spending at PSO Stations and 1% on spending at non PSO outlets. Card members will also avail the various exciting discounts and benefits given below:

  • Annual Fee Wavier
  • Free Accidental Insurance
  • Discounts on Avis Rent-a-Car service and PSO lubricants (DEO and Carient)
  • Discount on tracking devices from C-Track and car insurance from TDI
  • Special offers at authorized 3S dealers of Honda, Suzuki and Toyota
  • Discount on installation of CNG Kits, Rent-A-Car traveling and Car Accessories

Several Marketing media shall be utilized during the campaign for this product that will last about 1 month, and include:

  • TV
  • Radio
  • Print Media
  • Branding of leading UBL branches, PSO stations and high profile merchants

In addition to the above, we shall also be using marketing collaterals such as Flyers, Posters, Mobiles and Standees. These have been dispatched to selected UBL branches and PSO stations where these will be adequately displayed.

The advertising campaign, starting from April 2, 2009, will cover a wide media spectrum consisting of Print and Radio to start with followed by TVC, Cable and web advertising. In addition, leading merchant outlets will also be branded to promote the product while offering attractive deals on the Auto Credit Card.

The launch of this card will play a pivotal role in not only increasing our credit card acquisitions (card base) in totality but also provides us a strategic opportunity to capitalize on an untapped market. We have set high targets for this product and are confident that together, as a team, these can be achieved.
